What is Face Gravitation and why is it Important?

Gravity affects each of our faces in different ways. Simply by observing others shows that everyone ages uniquely.

Have you ever wondered why some people develop a double chin or drooping upper eyelids, while others experience loss of volume in their cheeks and wrinkles around the mouth and eyes? Our Face Gravitation Type is genetic.

By closely examining your reflection in the mirror, try to determine what's happening to your facial structure*

Our face gravitation type determines how our face structures, especially muscles and fat pads, behave under gravity's influence. As we lose fat and muscle volume, our skin wrinkles due to insufficient support. Lack of muscle activation leads to reduced blood circulation, oxygen-deprived cells, and acceleration of the aging process and collagen degradation.

Knowing your gravitation type helps identify weak areas and establish the appropriate facial stimulation or workout plan as some people might require lifting and toning through static workouts, while others need dynamic exercises to regain volume in their muscles.

There are Three Face Gravitation Types:

Gravitation Type 1: Sagging : Your face may lack wrinkles, but you could observe a downward drooping of your skin and muscles, mainly affecting the lower facial region. This can obscure the definition of your jawline and neck, potentially leading to a double chin and the formation of jowls on each side of your jaw. This sagging may also cause a build-up of lymphatic fluid, giving rise to under-eye puffiness and bags.

To counter this, engage in facial exercises that aim to lift and firm up your facial muscles. Practice these exercises with intensity and duration, focusing on the neck, jawline, and cheeks to reshape your facial contour, boost circulation, and enhance skin vitality.

Gravitation Type 2: Loss of Volume: You may notice a lack of plumpness in your face, with your muscles maintaining their position, yet diminishing in size. Over time, your face may appear more slender and less rounded, especially the cheeks. This reduction in fullness can lead to the formation of wrinkles near your mouth, eyes, and below your cheekbones.

To address this, concentrate on exercises that restore volume to your facial muscles, particularly the cheeks. Strengthen these areas to give your face a more youthful and fuller appearance.

Gravitation Type 3: Combination of Sagging and Volume loss.  If you're experiencing a combination of muscle sagging and volume loss, it's important to examine how these changes manifest. Check for asymmetry, such as one corner of your mouth being lower than the other, or if one side of your face, especially around the upper eyelids and cheekbones, is drooping more. Identifying the weaker side of your face is crucial for targeted improvement and achieving symmetry.

Begin with isometric exercises, focusing on the weaker side, and maintain these holds for maximum benefit. After your first month, add dynamic exercises performed in brief, intense bursts.

*Fun Fact : 60% of our facial structure is made up of 57 muscles, 20% is skin, 10% bones, and the remaining 10% fat
